How it works

Enter your bill amount, select or input a tip percentage, and specify how many people are splitting. The calculator multiplies the bill by the tip percentage to find the tip amount, adds it to the bill for the total, then divides by the number of people to show how much each person owes. It also breaks down the per-person tip and bill components.

Tip Amount = Bill × Tip % ÷ 100
Total Bill = Bill + Tip Amount
Per Person Total = Total Bill ÷ Number of People

The first formula applies the tip percentage to your original bill to calculate the tip amount. The second adds the tip to the original bill. The final formula divides the total equally among diners. You can also calculate tip per person and bill per person by dividing their respective amounts by the number of people.
